Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wagn'nagl fhtagn ("In his house at R'lyeh dead Cthulhu waits dreaming."). --HP Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu

The stars hath turned in the heavens once more: Mighty Cthulhu stirs. His dreams reacheth forth, communing with those with ears to hear. Iä! Shub-Niggurath! His thoughts trample down along the pathways of thy mind; thou knowest His footprints, each of which is a wound...

(got it from Wyld Card)

Fafnir fixes Social Security

Just a taste:
Q: I’m following you so far, but what if privatization…
A: It’s not privatization it is private accounts.
Q: Alright then, what if these private accounts…
A: They are not private accounts they are personal accounts.
Q: Okay, if these personal accounts…
A: They are not personal accounts, they are privamatupilous splendiferacy.
Q: I forgot what I was talking about.
A: Oh good! Have a lollipop with your splendiferacy.

Go see Fafblog! to read the rest: You'll thank Me.

Go! Go! Go!

Wups...

While it'll take a week or more to finalize the parliamentary elections in Iraq, I didn't want
this story to slip by:
The resulting unavailability of ballot boxes affected up to 100,000 Assyrian voters and tens of thousands of Yezidis, Shabak, and Turkman voters. The outright denial of voting rights to Assyrians and other non-Kurdish minorities culminates several months of intimidation, beatings, beheadings, burnings, and mutilations of Assyrian Christians in the Nineveh Plain.

Hmmm, looks like Chimpy's™ Demokracy Crusade forgot to include Iraqi Christians. That'll sit well with the fundies.

Why does everything Dumbya™ touch turn to crap?

Friday Not-Cat Blogging

Canada's subtlest and most-cunning sleuth,
Salvage, has unearthed evidence of what we have all long suspected: Cats are Evil. Well, Salvage is really not so much a "detective" as he is an "angry psychotic" (Azathoth bless him), but still, Cats are Evil:
This is a development of the condition borne by the 'Original Serpent', the 'Great Dragon' Lucifer himself. (Gen. 3:1) Indeed, modern studies of classification of cats, while not necessarily being reliable as they may be based on the discredited 'theory' of evolution, strongly associate felines with serpents (despite some external differences in physiology and morphology, which confuse those who do not study these matters deeply).

Of course, all of you are asking: "Yes, cats are Evil, Mighty Cthulhu, we all know that; but are they as Evil as Your Tentacled Emminence?"

And that's a good question, mortals. So here's your answer: Great Cthulhu is allergic to cats, particularly Ms Cthulhu's two little ankle-biting monsters. Therefore, not only are cats Evil, but they are more Evil than even Mine magnificence.

You're welcome.

(Dedicated to commentor AnntiChrist Coulter -- get well soon, kiddo.)

The Peanuts in the Poop
(or "Get-To-The-Top-O'-My-Sh**-List, 101")

It was with great disgust that I discovered that both of my (Democratic) Senators voted in favor of Condi-liar Rice's appointment. I'd send them an email, but I'm sure that in my rage I would prolly end up saying something that might get me a 3am visit from the men in jackboots.

Since my Democratic representatives are my last defense against the neo-fascism sweeping America, I expect them to (and need them to) put up as vicious and tenacious a fight as the Constitution will allow.

I am truly disgusted to find that neither Murray nor Cantwell could find it in their hearts to fight for human decency when they had the chance.

I am equally sure that they will continue to underwhelm me when it comes time to stop that scumbag Gonzales from sliming into the AG spot.

At this point, I don't know what rationale there is to vote Democrat in '06: It's not as if having a Democrat in office is protecting me or serving me now.

If you want to see how your senator voted for Rice, NYT has
a breakdown here:

Update:

As usual, Attaturk earns a tentacle-wave
for superior poignancy...

You just can't make this stuff up

I kid you not.
Here's a link.

Which is funnier?

The picture from Fark? Or that
Instaputz would post it?

Cthulhu thinks the latter: Just proves My dictum that neo-clowns eat their own young.

[Poster "Gecko" gets a tentacle-wave for best comment:

what *is* an "interstallar" body anyway? one between the stals?

They're the bodies that move between the cubicles in public restrooms.]

Well, THIS is better...

Nothing like letting Rumskull take over intelligence-gathering. After all, how could things
get worse?

Friday Not-Cat-Blogging

Mighty Cthulhu still doesn't like cats; but here's some tolerant, cross-cultural lovin' for ya'll.

Not to nitpick, but...

Great Cthulhu can't really do this hypocrisy justice, but neither could He let this slip by without comment.

All that prezidentin makes me hungry, so how'bout a Modest Proposal?

"...because we have acted in the great liberating tradition of this nation, tens of millions have achieved their freedom."

Will the children share their appreciation of the "freedom" they've earned?
Will the soldiers share the same scars?

Crisis in Pictures has more, but Rising Hegemon says it best.
Take it away, Attaturk...
